treatment planning
Following on from the information and discussion in the first appointment, and the evaluation of the diagnostic records, the treatment planning appointment is dedicated to presenting a number of treatment options that may be suitable for the patient. This includes procedures that will restore their mouth to a healthy, functional occlusion. Cost of treatment, who would conduct the various stages of the treatment, the time involved and home care are all covered in the discussion. A letter outlining the preferred option and the costs is then forwarded to the patient. It should be noted that some plans can be very detailed and items may change as the treatment progresses. If this happens we make sure we discuss the matter with the patient first and agree on the path forward.
Janis and Yvonne meet on a weekly basis to confer on treatment planning for their patients. They also regularly meet with specialists from other discplines to gain further information where interdiscilinary management is required.
