stages involved

Denture construction is broken into a number of stages:

full denture stages

  • Primary impressions
  • Secondary or detailed impressions (usually with a specially made custom impression tray)
  • Occlusal rims, face bow and bite registration
  • Tooth try in (usually two visits) when the position of the teeth will be set in wax, prior to final processing of the dentures.
  • Issue
  • Adjustment

partial denture stages

  • Primary impressions
  • Mouth preparation and secondary or detailed impressions (usually with a specially made custom impression tray)
  • Casting try-in, altered cast impression, bite registration
  • Tooth try in (sometimes two visits) when the position of the teeth will be set in wax, prior to final processing of the dentures.

  • Adjustment
