partial dentures

before treatmentRemovable partial dentures replace some, but not all, of the teeth in a dental arch. after treatmentThey are made of acrylic resin, usually with a cobalt-chromium, gold or titanium framework to which the artificial teeth are attached. They vary in design depending on the number of teeth to be replaced and can be combined with crowns to create prostheses with precision attachments that show no clasps. They are less costly but arguably less comfortable than a non-removable solution such as bridges and dental implants. However, in certain situations, they may be a wonderful solution that will provide patients an aesthetic result that functions really well.

Because Helen's partial denture replaced quite a lot of teeth, Yvonne used a single implant to help retain it. This meant the clasp could be placed further back in her mouth, where it wasn't on display.

This is how it looks inside:

Helen's comment: "Yvonne's finely crafted skills produced a new me with a face that was younger, and a pleasant smile once more. My life has been governed by my teeth. Now I just forget about them - with confidence"
