My name is Grant Young and I am 59 years old. I was unfortunate to be born with a lack of enamel on my teeth, which led to me having my top teeth removed when I was 15 years old and again my bottom teeth were removed when I was 21. During those early years I had a total of 42 teeth removed, and I have had full dentures all of my adult life.
For all of those years my top denture has given me zero problems - but due to the fact that my bottom gum is small and very flabby I have had continual problems with ulcers under the bottom denture for nearly 40 years.
And then along came Yvonne and my implants! I had contemplated having implants several years ago, but was not happy with the thought of the denture being unable to be removed. With the advent of the new technology - both the reduced number of implants and the ability to remove the denture - convinced me to be brave and enter the new world of implants.
I had two implants fitted into my bottom jaw in August 2004, and after a short period of discomfort Yvonne was able to attach my bottom denture to the implants. WOW! Since that time I have had zero problems with my gums, and I have experienced an entirely new outlook on life with my bottom denture fixed in place. Not only can I eat like the lucky people with their own teeth, but I can now go swimming without the fear of losing my bottom denture! And I can talk and smile with confidence. What an incredible life changing experience - if only I could to the same with my golf swing!
